Montreal’s Blue Hawaii is the side-project/ pseudo name of Braids lead singer Raphaelle Standell-Preston.
I have never really followed the group before, but Pitchfork said the 2010 music had a tropical vibe.
Her new record is called Untogether and the first feature song is “Try To Be.” The song is very light and pretty. It features repetitive acoustic guitar loops and chopped and repeated vocal melodies.
The song is a little spooky and gets stuck in my head.
