The other night I went to pick Coral up from work. I had the radio punched up to 101.9 FM CFUV which sometimes…. is truly great. They had a world music show on…all sorts of wonderful songs. The host was jazzed to play some new Jimmy Cliff. The legendary Jamaican reggae performer put out Rebirth earlier in the summer. His first record in 8 years. The album features Tim Armstrong of Rancid fame… The host played “One More” (which is what Coral shazzammed to let us know what we were grooving to) and a Clash cover of “Guns of Brixton.”
Coral and I downloaded a couple songs…but you know, I needed MORE reggae music in my life, so other day…had to get the record. Pretty solid. I really enjoyed the Rancid cover that makes the disc. “Ruby Soho.”
