It began as a simple internet search last week… and ended with me dropping $20 on itunes.
What was the first rock and roll song?
Fucking science man… they don’t have a definitive answer, but wikipedia comes darn close.

Now that is a good read for a music nerd like me. I ended up downloading a bunch of the suggestions from the list and thought I’d share them with you while also practicing to use my garageband (I hate this program, but its what I got).
Thank you for taking the time to jam out some olden tyme music with me. Hope you dig it.
Have a listen>> Origins: a podcast of early rock and roll.
Go with yourself.
I’m about to spend as much, if not more at itunes soon! Having a 50s themed wedding and will be compiling a list of Rock N’ Roll song in between sets when the band is not playing
are you in Victoria or Vancouver Island Pat? I am a DJ by trade, so if you need someone to jam out a 50s inspired set between acts, maybe you’ll think of me.
Great Playlist! I loved the Jim Jackson track.
Have you heard any of the Smithsonian Folkways recordings?
thank you Ryan.
I have not heard those recordings. what is worth checking out the most?
I really like Leadbelly, Memphis Slim, and Big Joe Williams.
Watching The Wire has gotten me into blues music more hah.
Especially the theme song… It’s originally by Tom Waits but the Blind Boys of Alabama version from the first season is awesome.
I love when TV does that.
