The internet is all in a lather over the latest “it” girl to hit the blogosphere. Such a pretty song… The artist is Brooklyn singer Lana Del Rey and the song is “Video Games.” The song is a melancholy, achy, sultry, vintage… I dunno… other descriptions. I’ve had it on repeat the last few days.
Pitchfork had a chance to declare her “rising” at the end of August.
Of all the articles I’ve read on Lana Del Rey, Pitchfork cuts right to it the best… even coming out swinging with the… “are you a corporate construct built to trick horny virginal video game playing hipsters?”
The song is pretty choice and the video is even more fun.
Lana Del Rey – “Video Games”
Go with yourself.
I too am a huge fan of this song but when I found some of her other work online… bleh. Also, she is clearly some sort of Femmebot.
Not a fan. The music video really irritated me.
I guess it ain’t for everyone Two… or else she’d be a mega rock star like Adele.
I think the first thing that turned me off was how fake she looks. That image from her single makes her look so pointy, and features flat where they shouldn’t be. Also that music video…gah don’t get me started. It looks like something you’d make for a myspace page.
Also Adele isn’t for everybody either. Rumour has it that I don’t like her either.
I’m with Tyson, she creeps me out.
OK… FINE… that was a miss pick 😛
