The hype is strong. Toronto’s Alvvays announced their second album, Antisocialites, will come out on Polyvinyl on September 8th. The press release says, Alvvays “dive back into the deep-end of reckless romance and altered dates. Ice cream truck jangle collides with prismatic noise pop while Molly Rankin’s wit is refracted through crystalline surf counterpoint.”
Alvvays is back with their style of modern romance and breakup. Molly Rankin sings, “You find a wave and try to hold on for as long as you can, you made a mistake you’d like to erase and I understand,” right off the hop of their first share track, “In Undertow.”
Sad songs (say so much)…you know the truth Sir Elton.
“This record is a fantasy breakup arc and my life nearly imitated art.” – Molly Rankin.
No shows in Vancouver? Brutal. Maybe a roadtrip is in order this fall?
