City and Colour’s Dallas Green took a moment to talk to CFOX about his new love album Guide Me Back Home. Dallas recorded every show of an extensive 28 date Canadian tour. His friend Karl Bareham came along to record every show and then the two of them pulled the best takes to curate 21-song record that represents nights throughout the tour, coast-to-coast.

Guide Me Back Home is out digitally on October 5th on Green’s own record label, Still Records. Physical copies on compact disc and vinyl will be November 23rd.

Green says about starting his own record label; “I see Still Records as a way to draw attention to projects that are important to me. Dine Alone was started to put out my first album, and it’s been very successful and grown into something really special since then. Still Records is an extension on those ideals and a place where I’m able to curate a collection of things that I think deserve to be heard and enjoyed.”

Dallas Green’s April Shows all over British Columbia are a tough ticket to get. He’ll be in Duncan on the Island tonight, then the Queen E Theatre in Vancouver on April 6th before shows in Surrey and Chilliwack.

If you are a fan and want more, or maybe missed out on tickets this time, maybe it will be worth a roadtrip to Washington State in September?  City and Colour added tour dates in the US and he’ll be in Bellingham on September 28th, Spokane on the 29th and finally Seattle on 30th at The Paramount.

Tickets go on sale Friday! Hit City and Colour dot com slash events.

Dallas is touring 2015’s #1 album If I Should Go Before You.

The show in LA is apparently at a smaller venue so here is how Dallas is gunna try to ensure that fans get access to tickets before the secondary markets takes over.

Due to the intimate size of The Wiltern in Los Angeles, fans are required to pre-register for a unique code using Ticketmaster Verified Fan®  to purchase tickets. City and Colour is working with Ticketmaster in an effort to combat bots and known ticket resellers to get tickets into the hands of real fans that intend to go to the concert. Only fans who have received a unique code will have the chance to purchase tickets. A unique code will be deployed to verified fans on Friday April 7, at 8am PDT, 2 hours prior to the commencement of the ticket On Sale at 10am PDT. The registration period will run from today, Monday, April 3 at 10am PDT until Wednesday, April 5 at 10pm PDT. Concertgoers, interested in attending the concert at The Wiltern can pre-register with Ticketmaster Verified Fan® here.

I wonder if that is a thing that make a difference?

Dallas Green is sharing two unreleased songs from his 2015 album If I should Go Before You.  The songs are “Peaceful Road” and “Rain.” The press release says, “both tracks were cut in Nashville during recording sessions for his #1 album.”

The songs will be released a single that you can order as a vinyl record, or digitally from iTunes.

Have a listen to the chill “Rain.”

It’s like Dallas Green wrote a chill lullaby for Vancouver.

Here’s that time in 2015 when I interviewed Dallas Green when the album If I Should Go Before You came out.

City & Colour‘s fifth record, If I Should Go Before You, comes out on Friday (stream it here).

Dallas Green is in Vancouver, he opened for Neil Young on Monday, and made sometime for us at CFOX. He performed the  IISGBY song “Lover Come Back” and answered a few questions. We yapped Blue Jays, his love of varous genres of music and how that fuels the constant change of sound that is City & Colour, the bigger sound of the new album and how rad track one “Woman” is, rehashing old stories, making his best record, and finally the dark yet romantic sentiment behind the title and song “If I Should Go Before You.”

Dallas Green posted this on his Facebook today;

You+Me

so…i’ve been keeping a huge secret and i’m ready to share it. A few months ago i headed off to California to meet up with my good friend Alecia, who you know as P!nk . i brought a guitar and a book with a few songs i’d been working on. I had no clue what would come of it, but was hoping for the best; the best being 1 song. Better than the best happened and after 2 weeks of just the two of us in the studio, we wrote and recorded a full album. I’m so proud of these songs and can’t wait for you to hear them.

its not City and Colour and its not P!nk – its You+Me.

Well ain’t that a pip…let’s put up the one song they’ve posted on soundcloud.

Pretty song. I really like P!nk’s voice.

One of my modern rock best friends… Dallas Green from City and Colour and Alexisonfire called into my radio.  Here is the complete unedited conversation.

The things we talk about: His new record, Little Hell and the maturity of the direction of his sound. hmmm, does that sentence even make sense? The album art (see above) looks awesome, what’s it all about? How the vinyl for Little Hell will be impressive.  We talk some fragile bird and breakup songs and his little house in Toronto.  And Dallas Green of City and Colour, what about Rifflandia?  You playing that this year?
