ty-segall

Ty Segall’s self-titled record is coming out on the same days as Japandroids AND Cloud Nothings. Neat. Here’s a fuzzy ripper called “Break A Guitar.”

Cloud Nothings are the best.  Life Without Sound is out…also on the 27th. They perform at The Biltmore in Vancouver on February 16th (I got me tickets!) and they shared another song.

Arcade Fire have shared their first new recording since 2013’s Reflektor.

The song is called “I Give You Power” and features Mavis Staples.

It has been reported that the Arcade Fire have wrapped up the recording of a new record that is expected sometime this year. What is not known is if this song will be part of that album.

Proceeds from the song will be going to the American Civil Liberties Union.  Punch it up below.

LA producer/DJ Mahalo gives us an atmospheric deep house spin of ZHU‘s “in The Morning.”

“Music is Faceless.

Let my music tell my story.” – alright, ZHU…let’s go.

I’ll need to add this jammer to my set at Match. Deep House isn’t for everyone, but on the slower nights, the workers seem to like the beats.

The Chainsmokers have new new emo-EDM cut for us called “Paris.”

Alex from the duo said, “We are really excited about this song because it feels like a really big step in our production and song writing. We tried to switch it up a bit and the song feels a lot more rhythmic and we pulled a lot of inspiration from bands we grew up loving.”

Jeeze, over 2 million views in a day and a bit? Chainsmokers are doing alright.

Coral asked our toddler boy Jack what kind of cake I’d like and he said, “a blue cake! with chockit!”

highly-suspect

I first fired up Highly Suspect when I was looking at some Grammy nominations and saw their record on the list. The “hotboyz outta Brooklyn” were nominated for a couple awards last year…sadly, not winning. But hey, just getting recognized is something right? It got me to hit play on their record.

Their single, “My Name Is Human” from their 2016 album, The Boy Who Died Wolf, was a number one song on Mainstream Rock chart sin the US…and it’s climbing at modern rock.

I love the fierce political voice int he group…and the music reminds me a little of Middle Class Rut. All good things.

Vagrant Records sent an email today to say they are rereleasing three of Alkaline Trio‘s classic records.

The band released a string of records in the early-to-mid 2000s on Vagrant. Starting with 2001 From Here to Infirmery, Good Mourning and wrapping with 2005’s Crimson.

It was on a Vagrant music video compilation DVD where I first found out about Alkaline Trio.

The split colour presses are beautiful!
