Geazy

I do spin me a lot of G-Eazy during my DJ sets at Match. His song with Cardi B called “No Limit” is in heavy rotation right now.

Yesterday he shared the music video for the song “The Plan.” His upcoming record is called The Beautiful & Damned will be released on December 15th.

The new video features a bunch of special guests like Halsey, Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Kehlani, E-40, Charlie Puth, Anna of The North. Anna of the North? Nice.

KID

My man Hunter sent over the new one from k?d.

His twitter is Who’s Kid…but if you go there it is just links on how to book him. I have no idea who he is. Maybe he doesn’t know who HE is? you know? still sporting that out. Growing, learning.

flatliners

I haven’t heard music from The Flatliners in awhile…but today “Hang My Head” from their 2017 record Indoors popped up…and it was love at first bite.

Propagandhi performed in Vancouver last night. My man Jared was able to source a last minute ticket to the old out show at the Rickshaw theatre for me. Incredible!

Last time they were in town…I drank too much, then went too har din the pit which was a bad scene for this old Dadbod.

This time I was lame and hung out on the balcony and didn’t drink…but you know what? LOVED the show and I am able to function on a Thursday. Win!

They started this set with Victory Lap standout “Failed Imagineer.”

A band from Olympia opened up called RVIVR. They were real good.

Ought
Holy shit… I totally forgot about Ought. I’m such a dummy.

I used to love those guys (and they soundtracked a couple adventures to Seattle…huh). Now they are on Merge records in the US and Royal Mountain in Canada.

There is just too much music, it hard to keep up with everything all the time.

Ought’s third album is called Room Inside a View.  The record comes out on February 16th. The first single is “These 3 Things.”

Ought out west with a band called The Flasher. I should road trip to see them in Seattle…for old times sake.

03-22 Portland, OR – Mississippi Studios
03-23 Seattle, WA – Chop Suey
03-24 Vancouver, British Columbia – The Cobalt

Vundabar

Pitchfork shared a song by the Boston band Vundabar today and it is a beauty.

The song is part of their upcoming third album, Smell Smoke.

Pitchfork says, “the song’s imagery was inspired by (Frontman Brandon Hagen) experiences juggling his work as a caretaker for a loved one with the band’s relentless touring.”

The song reminds me of 80s college rock/alt rock in all the best ways. And I loves me classic alternative sounds.

How was Halloween for you? My kids crushed it. Personally I wish I was a bit more present…been sick and busy with work and the new baby and the general stresses of life. But my wife and I rallied and the kids had a great time and collected tons of candy!

My wife Coral thought it would be hilarious for me to dress up like Elliott form ET and then have the baby be ET. Here we are.

Two Friends
Two Friends sent over a new remix. Eli and Matt went back to 2007 and MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular for the song “Kids.”

Eli says, “got a brand new remix we wanted to shoot over- our take on the classic ‘Kids’ by MGMT, bringing it back to our high school days. hope you enjoy this one!”

Well I’m a few years older than the cool DJs…but yeah it takes me back to not being 30 yet!

I want to shout out this amazing artist. Jarrod is a friend-of-the-show for a ton of years and also an incredible first nations artist. He is in Vancouver right now and so I was able to get one of his prints. And I love it.

Maddy pic

CFOX Vancouver imaging producer Jamie Ellard wanted to use a child’s voice to freshen up the “rock poetry” imaging that airs before some recurrent songs.

My 9-year-old daughter Madelyn came into the studio and put down her voice with Jamie.
